From Glass to Light: Micheluzzi Glass Lamps

From Glass to Light: Micheluzzi Glass Lamps

Our new Glass Lights Collection emerges from the captivating dialogue between glass and illumination. This new chapter in our creative journey is a natural evolution of our designs, inspired by the way our iconic vases interact with light, shaping their surroundings through reflections and refractions.

Glass possesses an extraordinary ability to transform under different lighting conditions. For years, we have explored this phenomenon in our Venetian gallery, where natural and artificial light dance across the surfaces of our vases, continuously altering their appearance. Surrounded by canals and their ever-changing reflections, we became increasingly intrigued by how our pieces responded to their environment. It was only a matter of time before we envisioned them not just as decorative objects but as sources of light themselves.

The first step in this new creative direction was an experiment: we transformed our Ghiaccio Vase into a wall sconces to place in our own home. With its textured glass, reminiscent of frosted ice or rippling water, it diffused light beautifully, casting a soft, ethereal glow. Encouraged by this first prototype, we began to share and showcase this initial design, discovering its potential to extend beyond a personal project.

This exploration soon led to an exciting opportunity—a bespoke commission for a prestigious interior project that allowed us to refine and expand our vision. A defining moment in our journey was the inclusion of our Ghiaccio wall sconces in the exquisite interiors of Palazzo Talia in Rome. This historic residence, elegantly restored to preserve its timeless grandeur, curated by Luca Guadagnino, is now illuminated by the delicate radiance of our handcrafted glass. The interplay of textures and reflections enhances the sophisticated atmosphere, infusing warmth and depth into its elegant architecture.

Building upon this success, we expanded the collection to include Ghiaccio Pendent Light and Ghiaccio Stem Light, all featuring the signature icy texture. But we also revisited ideas we had long dreamed of bringing to life. One of these was the Goccia Lamp, created by flipping our Goccia vase upside down. Originally developed as an intimate project, with early prototypes shared among family and friends, it quickly became clear that this design had the potential to be something much more.

At the same time, we revived another past experiment—Totem. Initially conceived as a sculptural installation of stacked vases, we realized its striking potential as a lighting piece. And so, the Totem Lamp was born: a vertical composition of different glass textures, a luminous sculpture that embodies our philosophy of endless variation and infinite possibilities. More than just a lamp, Totem is a statement piece, transforming its surroundings with its radiant presence.

A defining moment in our journey was the official debut of our lighting collection at NOMAD St. Moritz 2025. This prestigious showcase of collectible design and contemporary craftsmanship provided the perfect setting to unveil our latest creations, where light and glass became the protagonists of an immersive experience.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Swiss Alps and the frozen expanse of Lake St. Moritz, we presented Venetian Reflections—a sensory dialogue between light, shadow, texture, and architecture, inspired by the fluid beauty of Venice. This installation recreated the intimate and ever-changing atmosphere of our Venetian gallery, forging a connection between lagoon landscapes and Alpine nature.

Alongside our lighting pieces, the exhibition featured iconic vases by Massimo Micheluzzi and Micheluzzi Glass, showcasing iridescent, finely carved surfaces, as well as Massimo Micheluzzi’s renowned mosaic vases. The highlight of the presentation was a striking installation of Ghiaccio lamps, their ethereal glow echoing the crystalline beauty of the surrounding snow-covered peaks. Completing the display was a sculptural chandelier by Massimo Micheluzzi - its fluid, organic form a tribute to the aquatic life of the Venetian lagoon, now reimagined in a setting of ice and light.

From the frosted elegance of Ghiaccio to the sculptural presence of Totem, our Glass Lights Collection is an exploration of how glass and light can transform a space.

Each lamp is a reinterpretation of our vases—sometimes inverted, sometimes suspended—allowing their forms to be rediscovered through illumination. Designed with minimal fixtures, our lamps create an effect of floating luminosity, emphasizing the purity and elegance of glass.

We invite you to discover our new Glass Lights Collection and experience the magic of light through glass.
