Sacco Acciaio Inciso

Sale price€3.000

Sacco Inciso is a striking glass vase that captures the beauty of movement and transformation. To create this fluid, organic design, the glass is blown and shaped while incandescent, bending and contorting under the heat. Once the piece cools, the surface is meticulously etched using traditional Murano grinding techniques. These incisions follow the vase's sinuous contours, producing light vibrations reminiscent of water ripples.

Sacco Acciaio is handcrafted and signed.

ABOUT THE TECHNIQUE

Cold Carving

The cold carving technique, Molatura, takes its name from the grinding wheel used to carve the cold glass, which in Italian is called "Mola".

Usually cold carving is process used to get rid of the cutting edges of the glass during the finishing phase, but can also be used as decorative tool. The different carvings make the tactile experience one of a kind, also allowing the light to play with the glass surfaces, reflecting colours in a unique way.
